All Saints Church in Trefonen is the Parish Church for three rural villages; Trefonen, Treflach and Nantmawr.
There is a strong sense of community in the village, which is seen in the Jubilee Club and Gardening Club amongst others, but is perhaps most obvious on the May Bank Holiday, when the 'Trefonen Hill Walk Weekend' takes place. This involves many families, the church, the ramblers, cyclists and equine enthusiasts in a weekend of charitable events, culminating in a service in the church on the Sunday evening.
The church building is placed centrally in the village of Trefonen, on the main road near the war memorial cross and dates back to 1821. It tries to play an active part in village life and hosts the annual Hill Walk Weekend Service. The church also produces a monthly magazine which is distributed free within the parish.
The Sunday services are listed above and have congregations in excess of 50 adults. The Communion services are Common Worship (Order 1) with hymns sung with organ accompaniment. There is an active Sunday Club which meets every other Sunday at the family services. There is also a crèche facility at the back of the church during all the services. The Family Services are less formal with a lively music group. During special times within the church calender (Easter/Christmas) a volunteer choir is established to help bring that special something to the services. Anyone interested in joining should enquire at the church office.
Many people are involved in the life of the Church, in a wide variety of ways. In addition to those helping with the children others help with the music, make coffee for the congregation after the services, do the cleaning and flowers whilst some are assisting with leading worship, or serving on the many sub committees or ministry groups of the PCC. Participating in house groups is an important part of church life.
